Iced Tea 5 Ways

We are all looking for ways to stay hydrated, especially in the summer months. One tasty way to increase the amount of water you’re drinking is to make healthy iced tea recipes. We’ve created a base recipe which you can adapt to make a range of delicious flavour combinations. You can also choose if you want the added caffeine, or not.

Ingredients

6 tea bags (caffeinated or decaffeinated)

1 – 2 tbsp runny honey (to taste)

Ice

Method

Put the tea bags, honey and 1.5 litres of water in a large jug. Leave to infuse for 10 minutes then remove and discard the tea bags. Chill until ready to serve.

Add your flavouring and stir (see below for our top choices). Allow flavours to infuse for at least 10 minutes. Fill the jug with plenty of ice and stir again.

To serve: Fill tall glasses with ice and pour over the iced tea.

5 flavour combinations to try

Lemon and Basil

1 lemon, juiced plus 1 extra lemon to garnish

A small handful of basil leaves, roughly torn

Blackberry and Mint

12 large fresh blackberries

A small handful of mint leaves, roughly torn

Strawberry and Passionfruit

8-10 strawberries, hulled and sliced

3 passionfruit, (strain the pulp and add the juice to the tea)

Peach and Ginger

2 peaches, hulled and sliced

Thumb size piece of fresh ginger, peeled and cut into coins.

Pomegranate and lime

2 limes, juiced plus 1 extra lime to garnish

1 pomegranate, juiced
