Denise reveals how she’s back in her size 10 frocks with help from The Pure Package.
Denise: ‘How I’m Losing My Baby Weight’
We can’t believe how amazing Denise Van Outen looks after giving birth to her daughter Betsy just two weeks ago. Despite insisting she’s in no hurry to lose her baby weight, the star looked amazing at David Walliams’ wedding, sporting an enviable figure. We’d be massively jealous if she wasn’t so lovely!
We sidled up to Denise, 35, at her hubby Lee Mead’s first night in the West End show Wicked, and begged her to let us in on her speedy weight loss secrets. ‘I’ve been ordering from this company called Pure Package and they do your meal plans for you. It’s a life saver for new mums,’ Denise tells Look. ‘The food has been brilliant. For Breakfast you have muesli or rye bread with organic peanut butter. It’s really healthy but really tasty. You get five meals a day so you don’t feel hungry. I’m breastfeeding, so that helps too.’
Pure Package costs £39.95 a day and can be tailor-made for new mums. It’s clearly working. Denise told Look that as well as healthy eating, her fab post-pregnancy figure is also down to keeping active while she was expecting. ‘I didn’t go mad exercising while I was pregnant, but I did look after myself. I don’t have a sweet tooth and I was quite good in my pregnancy, but I did put on weight. But I’m not one of those girls who want to lose weight straight away – I did my first workout today. “Me and my trainer Nikki Waterman did a power walk with the pram. We were laughing, as we usually train together and suddenly we’ve got the pram too. I only did 30 minutes because I’m trying to ease myself back into it”, and she’s clearly loving being a mum.
‘It’s the best thing ever. I’m too old for 10 more but I’d like two. If I’d met the right person I would have done it years ago. I’m enjoying it now I’m a bit older. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. I don’t want to go out every night. I’m happy to sit in with Betsy.
“Me and Lee will share childcare because he is doing Wicked and then I’m doing a TV show. Lee is going to do the night feeds so I can get some sleep. And he’s in the house all day, so it’s great having him around to help.
“My mum stayed last night so I got to sleep for the first time since she was born. Sometimes I just want her to wake up so we can play.” Aww, we can’t wait to see more of her.
